Notes:

  • For the 2015, 2016 and 2017 financial years the maximum over a 3 year period is $540,000.
  • The bring forward rules are only available for members under 65.
  • There are transitional rules in place for the change in non-concessional contributions cap from the 2017 financial year to the lower $100,000 cap in the 2018 financial year.

New limit on non-concessional contributions based on total members balance:

  • If on 30 June of the prior year your members balance (across all funds) is higher than 1.6 million, you can not make any non-concessional contributions.
  • If on 30 June of the prior year your members balance (across all funds) is higher than 1.5 million but lower than 1.6 million, you can only make $100,000 in non-concessional contributions over 1 year.
  • If on 30 June of the prior year your members balance (across all funds) is higher than 1.4 million but lower than 1.5 million, you can only make $200,000 in non-concessional contributions over 2 years.
  • If on 30 June of the prior year your members balance (across all funds) is less than 1.4 million, you can only make $300,000 in non-concessional contributions over 3 years.
